Where Modern Hospitality Meets the Soul of Ancient Xi’an

Nestled along the historic Huancheng South Road—just steps from the weathered ramparts of Xi’an’s 600-year-old City Wall—OrangeHao Hotel was born from a simple yet profound vision: to create a sanctuary where the timeless spirit of China’s ancient capital harmonizes with the rhythm of contemporary travel.

Our journey began in the heart of Beilin District, a neighborhood steeped in culture, calligraphy, and centuries of scholarly tradition. As longtime residents of Xi’an, our founders were inspired by the city’s dual identity: a cradle of civilization that once welcomed Silk Road caravans, and a dynamic metropolis pulsing with innovation. They saw a gap—not in accommodation, but in experience. Travelers craved more than just a clean room; they sought connection—to place, to people, to authenticity. And so, OrangeHao Hotel was conceived: not as a chain, not as a generic stopover, but as a thoughtfully curated urban haven rooted in local identity.

The name “OrangeHao” itself carries meaning. “Orange” symbolizes warmth, energy, and approachability—the very essence of our service philosophy. “Hao” (好), a Chinese character meaning “good” or “excellent,” reflects our commitment to quality in every detail, from the thread count of our linens to the smile of our front desk team. Together, the name whispers an invitation: Come, stay well. Stay warmly. Stay meaningfully.

When we opened our doors at No.16 Huancheng South Road, we made a promise—to honor Xi’an’s legacy without being trapped by it. Our architecture nods to the city’s Ming-era fortifications with clean lines and muted earth tones, while inside, minimalist interiors—crafted with local woods, stone accents, and subtle calligraphic motifs—create a serene backdrop for modern comfort. Every design choice, from the courtyard-inspired lighting to the curated local art in the lobby, tells a story of place.

But our story isn’t just about aesthetics—it’s about people. From day one, we’ve built a team of passionate locals who don’t just work at OrangeHao; they embody it. Many grew up in Beilin District, walking these same streets past steaming noodle stalls and inkstone shops. They’re the ones who’ll recommend the best roujiamo vendor at dawn, help you navigate the metro with hand-drawn maps, or quietly leave an extra blanket when the autumn chill rolls in from the Wei River. This is hospitality not as performance, but as genuine care.

We also believe sustainability is part of storytelling. That’s why we’ve integrated eco-conscious practices—from water-saving fixtures and energy-efficient lighting to partnerships with local artisans for amenities and décor. We aim to leave light footprints while deepening your connection to this remarkable city.

Since our founding, OrangeHao Hotel has welcomed thousands of guests: historians tracing the footsteps of emperors, digital nomads seeking inspiration amid ancient walls, families marveling at the Terracotta Army, and couples savoring moonlit strolls along the lantern-lit ramparts. Each stay adds a new chapter to our story—one of shared moments, quiet discoveries, and the joy of making travelers feel not just accommodated, but at home in one of the world’s oldest continuously inhabited cities.

Today, as Xi’an continues to evolve—bridging its imperial past with a bold future—OrangeHao Hotel remains steadfast in its mission: to be more than a place to rest your head, but a gateway to the soul of Xi’an.
